Bodog88 is one of the many branches of the Bodog brand. Specifically, this focuses on gamblers in the Asian-Pacific market.
The details below cover their sportsbook, casino and poker room. We include all of the important information you need to know to decide if this is where you want to play.
Let鈥檚 not waste any more time on an introduction. Let鈥檚 jump right into the meat of the review.
Note 1: We reviewed Bodog88 via VPN from the United States. The site had to be translated from Chinese to English so we could read and report on what they offer. So, you might find some minor discrepancies between our review below and what鈥檚 on their site (in Chinese). But, to the best of our knowledge/abilities, the information is accurate.
Note 2: Bodog88 鈥?the most common name and URL used for this site 鈥?doesn鈥檛 show up in Google鈥檚 search results. When you search for Bodog88, Bodog888.com shows up instead. You might also run across Bodog110, Bodog26 and BodogAsia.com. You can also go directly to Bodog88.com. But no matter which site you go to, you end up with the same products and offers.
Bodog88 is part of the Bodog Brand that focuses on the Asia Pacific market. They鈥檝e been online since 2009 (some sites say 2006, while Bodog88 says 1994 鈥?when Bodog the brand started).
Bodog is owned and operated by Haydock Sports Limited. They have a Curacao eGaming License, as well as a license issued by the First Cagayan Corporation or Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), which is owned and controlled by the Republic of the Philippines.
Only the following states are able to join Bodog88:
The Bodog brand has a good reputation overall. They have complaints and scam accusations, just like everyone else, but most are either old (dating back to 2010-2011) or aren鈥檛 legit for one reason or another (lack of proof, failure to read and comply with terms, bonus abuse, etc.).
Most people like and recommend Bodog. I use this as an indicator for their smaller brands, too, as sites like Bodog88 get less exposure from review sites. You don鈥檛 see as many complaints or compliments for them, either.
I did look, though. I found that Bodog88 is 鈥榚ndorsed鈥?by WizardOfOdds.com. They have a good rating at AskGamblers.com, too, under the name Asia Bodog Casino. They don鈥檛 have any complaints, though, which is a bit suspicious.
My guess is that since this site focuses on the Asian market, and AskGamblers.com is an English-speaking website, that no one complains here because of the language barrier.
They have B-B+ ratings at a few sportsbook portals, too.
You can contact them using:
Their Mandarin and English support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and their Thai support team is available from 2 pm to 11 pm (GMT+7, Thailand time zone) on weekdays only.
I highly recommend you create an account if banking options are a concern. These were pulled from AskGamblers.com, as Bodog88 doesn鈥檛 display the options they accept on their site.
The minimum deposit amount depends on your currency:
Your option is bank transfers. I didn鈥檛 pull this off their site because, again, they keep that information behind closed doors. But it doesn鈥檛 surprise me that this is their only option since I鈥檝e seen other Asian focused gambling sites only offer bank transfers, too.
This sucks 鈥?one option isn鈥檛 enough 鈥?but as I鈥檝e said in other reviews, chances are there鈥檚 a reason for it that I鈥檓 just not aware of.
The minimum amount per withdrawal request will depend on your currency:
The same goes for max cash outs:
Here are their additional casino, sports and poker offers.
They have limited time offers, too. For example, they were running this large promotion where you鈥檇 earn 鈥榤iles鈥?for every bet you make. As you earn miles, you鈥檇 make stops on the different checkpoints on their map.
Each location would come with the ability to claim different prizes. Many of the prizes were physical items, such as electronics or luggage. But you could also claim free spins and bonuses.
This offer was on a limited time frame, which is why we didn鈥檛 share all the details here. But it highlights an important lesson 鈥?to bookmark their promotions page and get on their email newsletter so you鈥檙e notified whenever a promotion like this is introduced.
They have a VIP program. There are 5 tiers:
Everyone starts off at Rookie. Then there will be a minimum monthly wager requirement to reach the Pro, Prime and Elite levels. Legend is by invite only.
The perks you can earn include VIP bonuses, weekly deposit bonuses and rebates. Each will vary based on whether you鈥檙e playing in the casino, live dealer casino or sportsbook.
Those perks are pretty standard. But here are a few that stood out to me:
You can learn more about the VIP program at www.bodog888.com.
What I like most are all the different offers you can claim. There鈥檚 lots of variety between the welcome bonus, reload bonus, rebates, live dealer offers and VIP program.
The downside 鈥?it looks like they offer poker, but aren鈥檛 upfront about it. Knowing that, I鈥檓 surprised to see so few poker-related offers.
They cover several sports. Here鈥檚 what they had odds for when I reviewed their sportsbook:
One thing I noticed is that each sport listed had a number next to it. This is helpful because it gives you an idea of the number of markets or betting options you have. Though, it鈥檚 not 100% accurate as there鈥檚 some overlap.
One thing that surprised me were all the esports markets they covered. There were a variety of games and tournaments you could bet on, which include:
Esports betting options included moneylines, over/unders, FT HDP (full-time handicap) and several others. They also offered live esports betting, which is something I was surprised to see since Bovada didn鈥檛 offer live (esports) betting the last time I checked.
Overall, I think esports bettors will be pretty happy here. Though, I say that not really knowing ALL the options available to bettors in this region.
Bodog88鈥檚 other betting options will depend on the sport and market. But you can expect to find betting options such as:
Most of the sports Bodog88 covers can be wagered on live, too. They don鈥檛 have a separate section for their in-play betting, like most other books do. This made it a little tough to (quickly) figure which sports/markets were in-play or pre-match. But they do have a little 鈥榣ive鈥?label next to each market, as well as under the time slot (next to what the event is).
Other than that 鈥?you can choose between Hong Kong, Indonesian, American, Decimal and Malay odds. You can also filter between single and double lines, as well as full and half time. You can also filter down to league as well as all or just the main markets.
I鈥檓 not a professional sports bettor, but it looks like they鈥檝e done a good job here. Other than maybe pricing or how fast they post their lines 鈥?things I鈥檓 not well versed in 鈥?I think most bettors will be happy here.
They say their min/max bets vary based on the sport you鈥檙e betting on. You can find all their rules (for sports and their other gambling products) on their website at www.bodog888.com.
I鈥檝e seen other reviews that say they鈥檙e overall limits fall between $1 and $5,000.
However, their terms say they have a payout limit of RMB 1,000,000.00 (or equivalent in your currency) per account per day.
I didn鈥檛 find anything in their terms that suggest they do. However, Bovada and (I think) Bodog do. So, I鈥檇 assume the rules are the same here at Bodog88.
I鈥檝e read other reviews that say that both winners and recreational bettors are okay here because the betting limits accommodate both types.
That鈥檚 the wrong way to look at it, though. Don鈥檛 be fooled by those reviews.
What鈥檚 important to find out is whether you can consistently turn a profit at Bodog before they鈥檒l cap or close your account 鈥?NOT how much you can bet.
As I said earlier, I鈥檓 not a (professional) sports bettor, so there are probably a few things I鈥檓 missing such as what sports/markets they excel in, how fast they post lines, how competitive their pricing is, etc.
However, I鈥檇 assume 鈥?until they prove otherwise 鈥?that they鈥檙e like other Bodog sportsbooks, which means they focus on recreational bettors. And, as far as rec bettors are concerned, I think this is a solid sportsbook.
Other sportsbooks agree. They have a B at SportsBettingSites.org, which is/was written and maintained by an experienced and trustworthy sports bettor and affiliate. They have a B+ at SportsbookReview.com as well.
The bottom line 鈥?they appear to be an above-average sportsbook.
They work with the following software providers:
|Regular Casino Software||Live Dealer Software|
|Pragamatic Play||Deluxe Gold|
|Real Time Gaming||SA Gaming|
This is a BIG difference from their sister sites, such as Bodog.eu. They use Real Time Gaming, Rival and BetSoft. So, it鈥檚 pretty cool to see Microgaming and Ho Gaming software.
I did a rough count and came up with at least 350+ games between their regular and live dealer casino. More than 300 of those are slot machines.
Here are some examples of games you can play. We鈥檒l start with the table games since that covers everything that鈥檚 not a slot machine or live dealer game.
One thing they don鈥檛 do 鈥?which is sort of surprising 鈥?is let you filter these games by type. It鈥檚 bad enough they lump all the non-slot games under one heading, but they make it worse by not letting you filter games down to video poker, bingo, roulette or blackjack. The most you can do is list the games in (reverse) alphabetical order.
Another thing that surprises me is how few table games there are. I鈥檇 expect this if they only used Real Time and Rival Gaming software (like their sister casinos), but since they work with Microgaming, along with several others, they could have dozens of table and video poker games, as well as variants.
Bodog88 offers live dealer games, too. They split these up based on software provider. The games you can play include:
Table limits vary from 1 to 5,000. Reviews say they have private/VIP levels as well as the option to play their games in practice mode (but only on the in-house games). There is no dealer chat, and you can play in both live casinos (Bodog and Eagle Club) from your browser.
Here鈥檚 a fraction of the slots you can play here:
Examples of 3 And 5-Reel Classic & Video Slots you can play include:
Examples of Movie, Video Game, TV, Etc. Slots you can play include:
The ones listed on the left are standard slot machines and themes you鈥檒l find at all casinos. The ones on the right 鈥?likely the ones from Microgaming 鈥?are the licensed slots revolving around video games, movies, TV shows and more. There are several progressives, too.
You can filter their slots in alphabetical order, or by theme (Roman, TV, fantasy, sports, etc).
There鈥檚 no download. Desktop users can access their instant play casino. This means anyone with a compatible browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera, etc.) can sign up and play.
They鈥檙e mobile compatible, too. They have a QR code you can scan, but I鈥檓 sure you can just visit their site and they鈥檒l redirect you to their mobile site.
I didn鈥檛 check out their mobile casino because I don鈥檛 have VPN access for my phone.
Even though they label which games are mobile-compatible, I wouldn鈥檛 hesitate to try any of their games from any phone or tablet just to see if they work. I鈥檝e noticed that some casinos aren鈥檛 very good or knowledgeable about knowing which devices will work.
So, I鈥檇 rather you check and know for sure, rather than take their word for it. That goes for all operating systems 鈥?iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows.
I like their casino. Especially since they work with Microgaming.
That said, because they work with Microgaming, I AM surprised to see that they don鈥檛 have more games. Most Microgaming-powered casinos have upwards of 600+ games, but Bodog88 has a little more than half that.
However, what I like about them is how different they are from other Bodog casinos. They have licensed slots, for one thing. Live dealer games, too.
Apparently, Bodog88 offers online poker. You wouldn鈥檛 know it looking at their site, though. They only list their casino, live casino and sportsbook.
Poker is nowhere to be found. That is until you dig a little deeper into their site. I didn鈥檛 notice they offered online poker until I came across their download while reading about one of their promotions.
Anyway, I鈥檝e done some digging and found out that their poker room is combined with the entire Bodog Network, which was acquired by a Hong Kong-based company in 2017. They renamed it the PaiWangLuo (PWL) Poker Network.
The biggest change that will result from this sale is that they will expand the network into new countries, starting (it sounds like) with Latin America.
Other than that, everything else about their poker room will be the same as Bodog.eu. This includes the games they offer, stakes, features, guaranteed tourneys and so on.
For that reason, we didn鈥檛 think it鈥檇 make sense to write up a brand-new review covering everything we鈥檝e already covered elsewhere. So, if you鈥檙e interested in learning about their poker room, you can learn more about it in our Bodog.eu review.
While I have my (minor) complaints, I think Bodog88 is a strong sportsbook and casino (or, all-in-one site if you factor in their poker section). Maybe even one of the best for this (Asia-Pacific) market. They have more than enough promotions, betting options and casino games to keep most casual gamblers happy.
More importantly, they have an excellent reputation. You鈥檒l have find 7s, 8s and 9s (out of 10) at most major review portals.
For that reason, we recommend them to our readers. If you see anything in the review above that catches your eye, I wouldn鈥檛 hesitate to create an account and investigate further.
